Swine Flu & Ingrid...

Well, we didn't see it coming but we had a nice visit from the Swine Flu in our home last week. First Erik...then myself. I'm not one to make a spectacle of myself but I can honestly say as a warning to others to be really careful not to get it...you can't be too safe...you can't be too clean...too cautious. Everyone thinks they won't get it but it's not as far fetched as you think. I won't go into details...I'll just say that it's a nasty illness that knocks you on your feet and just takes over your body from head to toe. We're so grateful that it didn't get as bad as it could have...we're grateful no one ended up in the hospital and most importantly that our 2 yr old somehow seemed to miss it. So blessed. And grateful to have loving family and eachother to get through things like this. Like I joked to Erik-" There's nothin like goin' through a pandemic together to make us a strong couple!"

On a happier note...I still had tickets to see Ingrid Michaelson. I discovered her 2 1/2 yrs ago and it's been true love ever since. If I could steal the vocal cords of anyone it would be Ingrid Michaelson & Sara Evans. We'd been over most of it & weren't contagious so I couldn't bear to miss it. We mustered up the strength to go and stand for 4 hours (that did a number on my system!) and even though Erik wasn't happy about getting sucked into it at the last minute...he has been busted on more than one occasion since the concert listening to or humming to Ingrid! Job well done Jess.

This is about as good as it got for a happy face from him. What a supportive hubby. If I wasn't trying to recover & gain strength from the swine I bet he wouldn't have come...he knew I needed someone to hold me up!! I don't care...I think he's great!!! I'm a lucky wifey with a loving bloak.
