It's true what they say about loving your first little home no matter what it's made of. I can remember days when I cursed our 2 bedroom 1970's, dishwasherless, washer/dryerless, air conditioningless. leaky, ghetto, retro, stinky apartment. I hated it most days and came home grumpy and stressed because we didn't have enough room in that place to keep it clean and clutter-free. Then, as I drove away for the last time the tears came flooding!It was my first place on my own. Kayson and I moved in together on our own and we had some amazing experiences together. Erik and I got engaged while we lived there, I went through the temple for my first time while living there, we got married while I lived there...a list of milestones for our family started in that dinky apartment.
It wasn't much, it wasn't fancy. But that apartment held a lot of love and stories that I'll forever wish I could relive. Everyone has to move on and move up and we're so grateful for the opportunity we have to let our family grow and improve.
Picking out our first place TOGETHER has been really exciting and it's a fun new start. It's a 3 bedroom townhome that will make room for our next little one. Here are some pictures of our little starter apartment and our new townhome. We love them both!

The hardest piece to move. Took 6 guys to move this hunk of early 90's technology!
Our Easter activities failed this year. We decorated eggs literally an hour after moving our stuff into our new place (I don't just wear a bandana for looks)
I wanted to paint an accent wall in the front room/dining area & half bath. I say "I" because Erik had to work so I did most of it solo...I'm lucky it didn't turn out a total disaster! Here's before the fancy elbow work.

Definitely not done with the decorating but the hard part is out of the way.
