Sweatshirts, S'mores and Starry Nights

Sadly, we only got one chance this yr to pack up the tent & head to Erik's family property in Lava. I long for the smell of tents, tall wise trees and skies illuminated with countless stars all year long. Thankfully, we can count on Labor Day every year! Sorry for the dozens of pics but they're chalk full of FUN and FUNNY!

My hubby thinks it's funny to take pics of the last person up. But come on, I only had 3 hours of sleep!! The only bear you need to worry about is me if I don't get my camping Z's!! Kayson and I go on "adventures". In this one we're trying not to fall into shark infested waters. Yes. It's a danger zone out there.

Oh sap...haha. I kept quizzing Kayson on what it was called on the trees. His answer: zits. Sap/Zits...Potato/Potahto

Trying to get a toddler to pee in the woods without getting it on his clothes was new for us. Erik finally came up with the following improvising plan:

On our last day we always hit the Lava Swimming Pool
( sad story- we actually didn't get to swim. Right when we showed up they were trying to revive a man that they thought had drown. He ended up dying of a heart attack. They closed the pool after that)
