Bed Rest

Because I've been SOOO blessed to be able to work at home, my doctor agreed that it would be best to be on a "modified bedrest". So at 23 weeks, I packed up my boxes, cleaned out my office, and said goodbye to the faces I've seen 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for the last 4 years. Not much about my job has changed, I just set up my laptop at home and try...TRY to get comfortable. Whether or not I am, or whether or not I can comfortably manage to reach across my GIANT BELLY to hit "enter" on the keyboard or not is not important. And I'll give you 3 reasons why:

1. I am avoiding having to use FMLA which is unpaid leave and trust me, the last thing we can afford is to have $2000 worth of bills not getting paid every month right now before Erik finds a full time nursing job.

2. We are *hopefully* reducing our chances of hospitalized bed rest & giving our babies MUCH better care right now by taking it easy the last few weeks they have to cook in there

3. I GET TO FINALLY BE A SAHM TO KAYSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok I highlighted this because it's by far been my favorite part. I've dreamed of being a stay at home mom for him for 4 years & having this time with him to get on a set schedule, be with him, teach him, talk to him...and just WATCH him grow everyday & it has honestly brought tears to my eyes and has brought us so much closer together. We're on a very good schedule for the daytime and we'll be working on our night time schedule too so that by the time the girls get here, our family will resemble a palm pilot but that's the way we have to do it. So far this schedule has worked so great:

-Wake up & do breakfast together & family prayer
-Timed Ipod or IXL game time with learning games
-Free time
-Lunch time
-Nap time
-Preschool Time (@ home. Once I'm done working I can do more hands on but for now it's working in his workbooks along side me)
-Free time
-Daddy comes home and then the rest differs every night on how well I'm feeling

Some things are getting harder to do but Kayson has been AMAZING!!! He gets things for me, takes care of himself when I can't get up and he's just very loving and sweet to me & we're partners :). I cannot emphasize enough how much closer we are just in this last week because of the time we get together. I am SUCH a lucky mom to be able to actually BE a mom everyday. This is the best time of my life.
