Yep, you're lookin at it. Thirty, Flirty and Nerdy.
Above, proof I can't possibly be the big Three-Oh, I still stick my tongue out in pictures. Nope, can't be 30.
Well, I have to be honest...I think turning 29 was harder than turning 30. Possibly because my mind was so stuck on being sad over leaving my twenties behind all year that by the time it came it was no big deal. Sure, it's no fun...but I've heard nothing but great things about being in your thirties and I for one have LOTS to look forward to! See my 29th Birthday post here and here...and I have to admit they're a lot more fun to read!
Here are some quotes about turning 30 that really pick me up!
-Just remember, once you're over the hill you begin to pick up speed.
~Charles Schulz
-To my eye, women get sexier around 35. They know a thing or two, and knowledge is always alluring.
~Pierce Brosnan
-"Relish the decade, it will probably be your best"
I have to admit, last year on my birthday I had no idea I'd be where I'm at a year later. We happened to conceive our 3 baby girls during my birthday week (sorry TMI)...a beautiful blessing and miracle that has changed my life, my family and my role as a mother. You could say my family is complete. Aside from the many blessings the girls have brought to our lives, they have sparked a lot in my creative side. I've started discovering talents I didn't know I had and they've provided me inspiration to give more of myself to those around me. I have thrown myself into many different projects to keep me busy, successful, satisfied and help contribute to our family. Not to mention, I'm making so many new friends!
In the last year I've gained children, gained a LOT of new friends and had many opportunities to have my faith tested, which I consider a blessing in my life for it only brings me and our family closer to each other and our Father.
I am so excited about everything my thirties have to offer me and all I now have to offer it! I don't have any specific goals or things I want to accomplish yet...just to keep a solid foundation built around my family and the gospel and let the rest fall into place. I think our thirties are a time to kick back and let life happen a little more...I spent way too much of my twenties high strung, uptight, taking chances and trying to MAKE things happen. What a rollercoaster those 10 years were!
Here are some pictures from the sweet party my darling hubby threw for me. He invited all of our families to his parents and we had a great day. It happened to be General Conference Sunday the day we celebrated so that made it even better!!
Oh how I love my sisters! They support me and are there for their big sis no matter what I go through. So grateful for them!
Me and my girls. Sure I have "girlfriends", but these will be my girls for life!!
Me and all my little nuggets. Kayson (my puppy) made it such a great day. He kept telling me I was beautiful. How lucky am I??
I got some pretty amazing gifts this year, but by far my favorite was a sewing machine...da-da DAAAA. I was sooooo thrilled. There have been so many things I've been wanting to make...from clothing for the girls to crafts to curtains to aprons to clothes for me to toys...the possibilities are endless and I'm all over them!! I am so lucky for the love of my family and friends right now and thanks to everyone that made it a not so depressing Thirtieth!!
