Sobbing Over A Saab

Ok that was a pretty cheesy puntastic title..I'll admit it.

We lost a "member" of our family on Dec 21. Yes, just in time to say "Merry Christmas".

I'll admit we've had our ups and downs with this little lady. But my Saab was my first "dream car". So even with the memories of cursing her during the ugly moments (like when she wouldn't pass emissions over a stupid computer issue...EVERY year, or when her battery would die if you didn't drive her for a few days)...there are many more GOOD memories. I bought her a month after I found out I was pregnant with Kayson. Bought her because she was suppose to be one of the safest cars. Fact. Here are some of the memories I'll cherish with my Saab...

*Driving 2 hours to/from work each day during my whole pregnancy with Kayson
*Being in Labor with Kayson in the Saab
*Being in Labor with the triplets in the Saab
*Having the Saab decorated on our wedding night
*Unforgettable Road trips
*Many long hard cries
*Many rock out sessions
*Most of all...all the special people that have shared times with me in it.

Erik was faced with a "No Way Out" car accident 4 days before Christmas when a fella pulled out in front of him. He hit the truck and then the impact sent him a little airbound over the curb, some rocks and eventually into a business pole (Taco Bell). Enough to total it. I love that the first ...and I mean FIRST thing he did was call me. Before talking to the other driver or calling the cops..he called his wife. And stressful as it was...knowing our Heavenly Father protected him was a Christmas Miracle for me. The first words out of Kayson's mouth when I told him was, "Oh mom...we need to say a prayer RIGHT now...". And he was right...only it felt much better being able to say a gratitude prayer at that moment.

Here's what my sweet Saab use to look like:
And after...
