Love Is Spoken Here

I'm one of those saps that loves Valentines Day. I blissfully ignore all of the comments about it being a made-up commercial holiday to sell chocolate. As I've said in years past, of course we need to show our loved ones how we feel about them all year long, and that we do! But it's a fun time to CELEBRATE that love and find ways to reach out to people in your life that you normally wouldn't. It's another excuse to do things for others, put our thoughts and love into simple gifts of affection and make a person smile. What's wrong with that? Nothing. And what's better is that I am a holiday fanatic and I appreciate ANY reason to get our home all worked up about something. We love everything that surrounds a holiday and the opportunity it brings us to have some fun traditions and activities as a family.
This year I had the opportunity to do a job trade with another triplet mom friend of mine (Megan Hauze). She's taken photos for us before. Crazy talented and obviously amazing with kids...especially multiples! We loved how the photos turned out and we had fun sending Valentine cards out to the grandparents! I'm excited to put this photo up in our home as Valentine decor for years to come! I made the headbands, skirts, necklaces and bowtie. That was a busy week!

I woke to a sweet card, chocolates and a balloon from my Valentine...I cried as usual. His words melt me. And I left him a bunch of balloons tied to love notes in our room. We usually choose to celebrate an "above average" date night for Valentine's Day rather than do big gifts. This year we're going away for a weekend with friends again!!

We were a little lame on Valentine gifts for the kids this year. We left some treat bags out for them. Right next to the ones from Grandma & Grandpa Hunt!

Kayson made some cute Valentines for his Kindergarten class...
And I couldn't stop laughing at the bottom right situation we had going on. I sent Erik to the store for a cute pinterest idea I wanted to use and this is what he came back with. Poor Erik always gets sucked into this stuff but he's a great sport!
During the day, the girls and I made cupcakes and ran around delivering their Valentine's to friends and some people I felt could use a lift in their day.
This is one of my favorite Instagram pics of the day!! The best way to spend Valentines Day in my opinion.
Cupcakes make me cross-eyed too Hallie!

We usually get out our Chocolate Fountain but this year was a little stressful for me, since it was only a few days after a local TV crew came to our home to film a short segment on our family. (more about that later). I had a lot going on so we decided to keep it simple.
Heart Shaped Pizza & Dessert Style sushi
(I cut up Little Debbie rolls & made a strawberry sauce)

Cute little Valentines!

Last, this year I made a goal to get more Valentine Decor up. I didn't really succeed because I had a lot going on and I've truly been working on not overfilling my plate this year. But I was happy that we added a little. Here a little and there a little each year will one day add up! I made the Burlap banner and wreath this year.

We truly had a wonderful day together as a family and I am so grateful to be able to spend it with the ones I love most! I am so blessed to be constantly surrounded, day in and out by my loved ones!! It's a dream come true.
