Oh By GoLlY HaD a HoLlY JoLlY ChRiStMaS tHiS YeAr!

Yes I know it's over-Boo-Hoo. Don't stone me yet, I started writing this post the day after Christmas. I just wanted to share a couple of our favorite things about Christmas, go out with a bang.

First, our season wouldn't be a thing to us without our Savior. We truly celebrate this season in honor of Him and the love & sacrifice He's brought to our lives. We are so grateful the world unites to fill our hearts with thoughts of Him and spreading those warm feelings to those around us. We truly are blessed because of Him and the blessings that have come to our lives through Him.
He truly is our greatest gift.
On that note. I want to make it publicly known that Christmas means so much more to me than the parties, gifts & Santa magic. When I think of Christmas I picture families going out to do fun activities together. Baking for neighbors. Giving to those in need. Telling stories. And getting locked away in a cabin with all of your loved ones surrounded by snowy landscapes and nestled all around the fire singing and drinking egg nog & hot chocolate. I love spending time with family. Making Memories. That's what I really get fired up about.

I wanted to share these pictures because it reminds me that Christmas is everywhere. Even tucked away in a quiet corner. Poverty stricken homes.
Christmas is everywhere and resides in the heart.
Not in things.

We love to watch Christmas movies in our home.

We have lots. Here are the ones on repeat!

The Classics

One of the regulars in our home during this season. Never gets old. I revert to my inner Christmas child when they're on. And yes, I sing along!

Kayson's favorite movie is The Polar Express. We watch it over and over each year. We love how the story is about believing. Christmas brings a childish belief to hearts of a cynical world. "It's the hardest thing to do in the world to truly believe in something. If you do it's a miracle."

We heart all of the Santa Clause movies. It's Erik's fantasy to be in this depiction of the North Pole and all it's glory. I love my Erik. He's my own personal Christmas elf. For real.

Candy Canes. The taste, the smells, the way everything is peppermint flavored...mmm.

These next 2 pics are by Thomas Kinkade. My mother loved his work and I always use to imagine we were there. It's my Christmas fantasy. Don't they look so magical?? The horse drawn sleigh is the icing on the cake.

Ho!Ho!Ho!

The Jolly Old Elf himself made his stop at our place this year and left us some fun stuff to keep our hands busy!
Above: A collage of some of our favorite new toys.

Below: Kayson enjoying them!
