I know I just updated a lot, but I've got to squeeze this post in and you may see some frequency in our updates cuz things are stirring up a bit in this oven :)
I'm 25 weeks today & had a visit with the High Risk doctors. After a pretty normal ultrasound, we've got some great news and some not so great news.
The GREAT news is that the girls are doing AMAZING. They are not measuring under this time, in fact they were all at least one day ahead of where they should be. They are all 12 inches tall and here are their weights:
Baby A = 1 lb, 10 oz
Baby B = 1 lb, 12 oz
Baby C = 1 lb, 13 oz
This doesn't mean much to you unless you're pregnant right now and keep track of where they are suppose to be. But what this DOES mean is that we are literally in a rush against the clock right now to fatten them up. We really want to get them to 3 lbs before they come and that's not going to be easy but I'm going to try to stuff my face and go through a pack of Ensure a day. Hoping it will work! They are so close to 2 lbs! So babies are great...
...now for my cervix...
It's not hangin in there. It has shortened a LOT. Probably due to the increase in Braxton Hicks the last week or so. It's suppose to be 2 1/2 centimeters and it's only at 1 centimeter which puts me at 50% effaced at only 25 weeks. So that's an issue. The dr almost admitted me overnight to have my contractions monitored to see if they want to start me on some medications to stop or slow down my contractions. They left it up to me in the end and said that if I'm confident I can recognize when I'm having them and keep track well, then I just need to come back if I have more than 4 an hour. I really don't want to be admitted folks...or at least not on a weekday. Grrr.
What to do:
They started me on a round of steroid shots to help get the girls' lungs developing because they will be coming earlier and they need all the help they can get.
They also put me on a more strict bedrest than I'm on now. I have to stay completely down 3 hours in the morning, 3 in the afternoon and 3 at night...about a total of 9 hours out of my waking day I need to be glued down. Sigh. So much for getting a BUTTLOAD of things done. But we've had some great friends/family offer to help where needed so I'm starting to breathe a little better. How lucky are we? SOOOO lucky.
So in the end, we've been told that we will not be making it to 34 weeks and getting induced with a high chance of NICU-Free babies. Shucks...
BUT, our goal date of 32 weeks isn't completely shot yet. Slim, but hopeful. If we work really hard at the eating thing, the bedrest thing, get on medications...we have a shot. But we need to plan on the babies coming in the next 5 weeks. YIKES!!!! Our biggest goal right now is to make it at least 3 more weeks (28 wk mark). If we can then the babies have such better chances with their health. So help us cross our fingers and pray that not only can we keep them in at LEAST 3 weeks but that we will get everything done that we need to. Liiiiiike getting a vehicle to bring them home in. But hey, if we can't get our Kia sold and get a Tahoe before they come home we can bring them home in 2 vehicles haha..and hope that we have one before all their weekly appts.
So, wish us luck...we'll keep you posted...but our ride is getting a little more rocky now.
And thanks again to all the friends that have offered help. We love and appreciate you so much!!
I also thought it would be fun to show you what a mom expecting 1,2,3 and 4 looks like at the 25 week mark. I'm the 3rd one.

I really wish I was close-by because you know I'd be over there every day cooking your meals and arranging your baby room.
Oh - I just thought of a trick that one of my friends did at the end of her pregnancy to fatten her baby. She mixed protein powder into pancake mix.
Oh my heck. That is crazy. I am so excited and nervous all at the same time (I guess my feelings got nothing on yours, lol!) Seriously, call anytime you need anything at all. I guess I better get you the gifts I got you before they come. After they come you guys will go in hibernation mode :) Congrats Jess..I am so happy for you.
I'm so happy to hear that the girls are growing so well! I'll keep you all in my prayers!
Wow so soon! I'm so glad everythings still going good. Those sweet girls will be perfect.
ok so seriously I want to help in any way that I can, I leave town this weekend but will be back monday. I will keep you and those precious girlies in my prayers that you can at least make it to the 28 week mark, but really we'll pray for the 32 week mark. Have fun chugging the ensure! :)
Oh my goodness! First, YEAH! for growing babies!!! Second... we will be keeping you in our prayers and keeping all our fingers and toes crossed!!! You amazing baby making machine, you! Hang in there! And maybe keep your legs crossed... it can't hurt to try! :) I wish I lived closer too... but it sounds like you have lots of help, so great!! Good luck! I'm so excited for you guys! :) And side notw: I can make you anything you want... I'm an expert at mailing things these days! ;)
I can totally relate to the braxton hicks stuff. I had contractions every 10 minutes for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy with the twins. It's weird how just rolling over in bed can make you have one. Try not to get too overwhelmed with all that you want to get done. Take advantage of everybody's help so those little babies can grow!
HOLY MOLY! That is so soon!!! I hope you can keep your buns in the oven a little bit longer! Let us know if you guys need anything!!
Well crap Jessie! You gotta keep those things cooking. Got that?! ;) I'm sorry things aren't going exactly as you hoped they would, but have faith! Things will work out. I'm going to call you today. Loves you.
Hey let me know where Grandma Teresa can help out!!!I can take Kayson anytime for any amount of time if you need me too!! You just HANG in there and keep them bakin!! Our prayers are with you!!
