Five years ago my life changed for the better...in a drastic way. The arrival of my little Kayson turned my whole world around and started the journey to the wonderful and happy family I cherish today. I remember his birth story like it was yesterday. I remember every joke, smile, cry he's had over the years. And as he gets older I worry about those memories fading. Doesn't everyone want to hold their precious little ones forever? Well it feels like forever is gone when they get this big. They aren't babies...they aren't toddlers...they're KIDS!!! His baby chub is starting to disappear and he's so smart he stops us in our tracks. He doesn't know it, but sometimes I sneak into his bed and wrap my arms around him just trying to hold on to the little fella while I still can. He's brought me so much strength over the years. And now, watching him carry his baby sisters around, I try to remember him ever being that small.
I look forward to his birthday every year because I get to celebrate him publicly and smother him all day. Birthdays have always been a big deal to me and I hope our children cherish the birthday memories we try to give them.
This year I decided to copy a friends idea for writing down Kayson's exact word for word answers to a questionnaire. His answers didn't surprise me at all!

Kayson is the man of the house most days...and I love his personality! Here are some of my favorite moments:
*When I was sad the other day he went upstairs and brought down a Valentine craft I made with a heart on it to make me feel "loved"
*Kayson tells people he has a job....as a breakdancer. He's very serious about it
*Kayson is caught several times a week in the nursery with his sisters early in the morning talking, singing and playing with them
*When I told Kayson I love dancing. He replied with, "pole dancing?"
*Kayson is so athletic, I often catch him doing P90X by himself!
*He calls private parts "pirate parts"
*He calls private parts "pirate parts"
*He likes to sleep with Primary Songs on his stereo
*While trying to kill an imaginery person, Kayson defended himself with, "but Mom, God and the Holy Ghost told me I had to kill him...just like Nephi did. So it's ok."
*Kayson won't poop with his shirt on.
*Kayson could play cars 24/7
*On his 5th birthday he woke up and said he could tell he was 5 because his pinky finger looked longer
We had his birthday gifts out this morning and a cake but we've got a big party planned for him on Saturday that he's so excited for! I love this little man and all the love he brings into our home and the wonderful example he shows his sisters. He loves them so much and these little girls really adore him. I can't get enough of his big brown eyes and his silly giggles. We love you to pieces like Reese's big guy!
