Our Kindergartener!

There are days in every mom's life that she never forgets. Your oldest starting school for the first time is definitely on that list! I can't believe our little "Puppy" is entering the big world. My friend Ashlee put it perfect when she said,
"Today it's kindergarten, tomorrow it's college, then it's marriage and he's not mine anymore".
That is exactly how I feel. But rather than blubber on and on about the heartache and insecurities that come with it, I'd rather highlight what a proud mother I am.

We started a new tradition in the family.

I also made him a couple of fun "Good Luck" treats.

At the playground before school

He was such a big boy and so excited about being in class. He wasn't sad at all. But I was lucky enough to get a willing hug and kiss from my man. I love that he's not embarrassed to love on his mama...it would've broken my heart on a day like this!

Kayson's After School Surprise!

So far, he is LOVING school. He doesn't like to talk about it too much...when I ask him about it the only things he likes to talk about is recess and lunch, such a boy. He also says he's made friends and was the most excited about that. He doesn't know any of their names though...another boy thing haha! I am so excited for him.

I have to add that I am so incredibly grateful that his father is a worthy holder of the Priesthood. I can't tell you how much comfort and ease it has brought me as a mother for our children to get a Father's Blessing the night before they start school each year. I know that our Heavenly Father is watching over him and that he's going to have a wonderful time and that if we're mindful as parents and listen to the spirit that we will always be guided to know what our children need and how we can help them.

On that note...a friend in the ward made a comment in the classroom, "just wait until you have 3 of them in here one day!". Oh man...ooooooh man. If I have any say that's just never going to happen. They're going to stay little FOREVER!!! :)
