This post is long overdue. But we had a wonderful vacation to visit our family in Florida again this year. It warms my heart to see our kids with their grandparents when miles separate us all year long. And I'm very close to my Aunt Lisa...being able to spend time with her in person means so much to me. I look up to her so much. I also got to FINALLY meet my new sister in law and I just adored her! I could spend hours on end with her! I'm so grateful for all of our family there and for every moment we get to spend with them!
Erik's parents were generous enough to schedule their cruise during a time where we could all fly to Florida together. The flight and trip was only possible because of their help with that! We are so lucky for the sacrifices they make for our family & it was fun having them along for some of our visit. We learned that we'll never do a Red-Eye flight again...but the flights home weren't bad at all. Everyone thought I was lucky because Hallie slept in my lap most of the way home, until they noticed that her diaper had leaked all down my pants and I couldn't do anything about it until we got home!! Gross! That's love for ya.
I was very nervous about flying with triplets! But I did the only thing I could...prepare, prepare, prepare. I ordered new toys. Planned out naps, snack times, meal times, diaper & clothing changing times...you name it. Kayson had his own special backpack as usual with fun new surprises. He could've played with his Aquadoodle for days. In the end all you can do is take a deep breath, pray and hope for the best. It wasn't too bad and I just kept telling myself no matter what happens, this will end!
Here's a pic of my Flight Snack Preparation:
I didn't take a picture of all the new toys I had prepared but it turns out we really didn't need them.
Unfortunately, only my mother in law has in-flight pictures so I'll have to snag those one day!
We had such a great time...sunny skies, endless waterplay, yummy meals, fun activities and unforgettable quality time with the people we love. They are the most hospitable people we know and always make it such an amazing experience. It breaks my heart that we might not be able to afford plane tickets every year anymore. But I look forward to the day we get to visit again or have them visit us. Until then, we miss you Florida!
Here's a little slide show I put together of my favorite pictures from the trip.
