'Til We Meet Again

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we truly look forward to General Conference every 6 months. It's an opportunity to spiritually re-fill our cups and feel nourished in the Gospel. We love to listen to the Prophet and the inspiring messages the leaders of the church leave us with that often carry me through difficult times. More than anything, I love that we have the ability to look up old talks when we need them.
We really try to make General Conference weekend enjoyable for the kids. Now that Kayson is older, I add something new and fun each conference. This time we decided to start putting up a tent in front of the tv to emulate the Nephites in the Book of Mormon.

“And they pitched their tents round about the temple, every man having his tent with the door thereof towards the temple, that thereby they might remain in their tents and hear the words which king Benjamin should speak”
Mosiah 2:6
We had a Conference Basket with lots of goodies, snacks, drinks, notepads, popcorn, Games, conference packet and even 2 new Book of Mormon Action figures.
You can find great Conference Packets updated for each Conference here. Just do a search for Conference packet.
We had Conference Treat Buckets again. These are always a hit. And now we have Fall colors AND Easter Colors!
Kayson loved playing Bingo and coloring the apostles ties. Those were his favorites and he listened SO well!! I was incredibly proud of him!

This picture just cracks me up. Mommy is helping the girls color their Conference pages while Payten makes herself...um...comfortable.
And the best treat of all...
Caramel Corn!

All fun aside...Conference weekend was incredibly uplifting. I am so grateful that we were blessed and CHOSEN to live during a time when we have the gospel back on the Earth again with true and living Prophets and leaders of God to give us the guidance and direction that we need. I found myself in tears so many times. Emotionally and spiritually overwhelmed and inspired. I was so humbled and uplifted over the weekend and reminded of the things that are truly most important. My desire to serve and to love more Christlike has grown and I hope that between now and the April conference that I will be able to put my new goals for myself and for our family to work and live them with all of my heart. I titled this post with the hymn that is always sung at the closing of Conference because everytime I hear it, I can't believe conference is already over and I have to wait another 6 months!
