My little nephew Sawyer is my youngest sister's first child. It has been one of my favorite things to watch. Sisters grow together through the years in so many different ways. You go from stomping your feet down the hall because you have to take your sister out for a "stroll" ...to writing down mean things in your journal about them because they won't stay out of your room and stop touching your "things"...to fighting over who wore who's clothes...to being in complete shock the first time your sister has a relationship and actually lets a boy kiss her lips...gross...and marry her...even grosser...to the day she becomes a mother. Becomes a mother! It's a hard thing to describe but it's been wonderful.
Anyone who has been a mother knows all of the Heavenly love you are surrounded by...the completely new person it makes you become. The completely different outlook you have on life that makes you constantly wonder what in the world you did with yourself before you had kids.
Being able to be there when Sawyer was blessed was one of the most touching moments I can remember with Becca. Knowing the joy that she was experiencing...the pride she was able to take in having a husband that held the Priesthood and was able to bless their child. I was so proud of her and the decisions she's made with her life. The amazing husband she chose. There's something about being in a place like that, that makes you feel like no matter what they go through, they're going to be ok. I love this little family and I'm so grateful we got to be a part of their special day!
With Grandpa Bart!
Gotta love Payten's stink eye...
They call him "Baby Sewer"
Such big girlies holding their plates! Awww...these moments make a mom like me cringe. I've spent the last 2 yrs terrified of situations like this. I can't believe they're growing up and doing so well! Maybe I need to cut the cord a little eh?
