If you follow my Instagram account, you know that I do my best to keep busy. Not to say my family doesn't keep me busy enough. But in the middle of all the chaos I love to make time for projects. They are my little sanity that I need to help me feel accomplished. I'm so grateful that I've been able to find a healthy balance and allow my projects to be fun hobbies during naptime/bedtime that I can actually enjoy guiltfree, stressfree. Here are a couple of things I've played around with. I know I'm forgetting a ton.
I fell in love with this top I saw on Brickyard Buffalo. But sadly, I couldn't afford it for 3 girls. So I found the fabric and attempted to make my own.

(My version). I definitely need to work on my ruffling. It was a little more straight than I had planned but I'm getting there. A little better every project! And of course I had to whip up some matching bow clips.
Saydee is just about the cutest model I could've ever hired!
Mmm, mmm, mmm...those cheeks are just delicious!
This is another one of my favorite shots of the girls giving hugs to eachother. In their cute tops! Look at the smiles on these little sisters...warms my heart.
Next up...again another deal on Brickyard Buffalo that I adored. I couldn't afford $27 leggings no matter how badly I wanted them. Do the math folks...it ain't pretty.

The girls love to wear headbands but their hair is in a funky in-between stage right now where headbands look weird. So I've fallen in love with bow clips and made about 80 of them. No lie. This is my second group. I love pastels this time of year. The girls closet is full of mints, corals and grays. Makes me giggle a bit. I've had a lot of requests for a tutorial on how to make these so watch for that soon!
Making the girls a Minnie Mouse dress for their 2nd birthday party was something I was looking forward to as much as the party!! I wanted pillow case ruffle dresses (hello easy, right?) Well, I had some catastrophies. 4 days before their party I ran out of the pink polka dot fabric and I was already finished with 2 dresses...AHHH!! I tried to order more but it didn't come on time. I literally checked the mailbox 5 hours before their party and nada! So, after calling all over town and finding nothing...I luckily found some plain pink scraps and was able to sew something together. So, one dress (Hallie's) doesn't have polka dots but it still turned out super cute! Since the party, I have taken the ribbon ties out and made matching polka dot fabric ones which was the plan before I ran out of fabric. These were really fun to make. They turned out a lot bushier than I expected but I followed the pattern so I think it was the heavy fabric I chose to use for the ruffles. Still fun...and they can wear these for years. Yay for tiny miracles!
(Sorry for the candid shot of the girls. This was honestly one of the best pics I could get of the dresses. It was a rough day for me to say the least...more about that later in their birthday post!)
This next one was back in February actually. But after an unsuccessful hunt for affordable polka pants that I actually LIKED, I threw in the towel and decided to make my own. I mean how hard could it be right? $20 Dickie Brand Jeggings from Amazon and white paint.
Easy.
Love.
Now if only I could get my thunder thighs to shrink I would actually look cuter in them!
Another old project from February...
I threw together a Car Seat Canopy (Amy Butler fabric) and some of my favorite kind of burp cloths(Walmart fat quarters) for my sister in law!
I have several more projects to post but we'll save it for another time!
